Community Oriented Vision
I’m a passionate believer in community. I works very hard to create stronger communities online and offline and I believes that both can work together to strengthen each other.
Neighbors In The Strip
I’m a volunteer and board member of Neighbors In The Strip (NITS) where I work to promote the Strip District via Facebook and in person.
I help to tackle a diverse number of issues from safety concerns to neighborhood marketing and promotion. I’ve worked with NITS to help coordinate events surrounding the 2009 Pittsburgh Marathon, the redevelopment of the Allegheny Riverfront, and the opening of the Pittsburgh Public Market.
I started and help to maintain a Facebook page for the Strip and have helped business owners within the district and around the city of Pittsburgh to utilize social networking sites such as Facebook to improve their customer service, their promotion, and to help build more committed and loyal customers. With the help of NITS I created and lead a Social Media conference.
Main Streets Communities
I’ve worked with other neighborhood groups including Lawrenceville United and Lawrenceville Corporate to discuss promotion and I’ve been involved in multi-neighborhood events, worked with artists and children as part of Lawrenceville United’s Lawrence the Dinosaur and again for their summer art program.
I continue to work to build social capital and a sense of neighborhood ownership among residents and business owners. If you are interested in learning more or in hiring me to work with your business or community please contact me here.
